Golden bear stories

The Golden Bear Story Box is an innovative teaching experience for younger children. Piloted by 10 Primary School and Preschools in June 2010 the teachers reported it was a very positive and enjoyable learning experience.

Written for Early Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 the books are to be read aloud. The first book ‘Meet Golden Bear and Prairie Dog Pete’ is read to the children in class. The children dress in pioneer costume for the second story ‘We are Pioneers’. They become involved in the story sitting round a tripod fire, using authentic props and handling animals and other artefacts featured in the story.
